Alliant Energy Foundation awards Community Service Scholarships

Twenty-five $1000 scholarships awarded to Iowa, Wisconsin & Minnesota graduating seniors

MADISON, WI – May 25, 2010 – The Alliant Energy Foundation is pleased to announce that it has awarded twenty-five, $1000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors throughout Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

“We are delighted to provide scholarships for future leaders across our utility service territory to support their aspirations in obtaining higher education,” said Barbara Swan, Alliant Energy Foundation President. “It is vital that we support our accomplished young adults and help get them started on a successful path.”

The following individuals, with their city of residence and high school noted, have received Alliant Energy Foundation $1,000 Community Service Scholarships:

The Alliant Energy Foundation Community Service Scholarship recognizes outstanding community leadership in young people and is designed to help first-time college students reach their academic goals. The program considers several criteria, including leadership experience and community service or volunteer activities as well as the content of a 300-word essay submission.
