Eligibility
To qualify for Efficiency First Renewable Cash-Back Rewards, you must be an Iowa Alliant Energy electric customer. In addition, construction of the renewable system must begin after 7/1/2010.

Step-by-step application process
Step 1. Use the online self-assessment tool to determine your property’s renewable energy potential, estimated energy output, installation cost, rebate amount, and indicate your interest in program.
Step 2. Based on the information you provide in Step 1, Alliant Energy will contact you to schedule
a. A commercial energy efficiency audit – a fee may apply
To qualify for a renewable cash-back reward all customers are required to complete the audit.
b. Site assessment to review your property’s potential to generate renewable energy ($250 fee)
To qualify for a renewable cash-back reward all customers are required to complete the site assessment.
Step 3. Determine which of the two Cash-Back Reward levels; Energy Efficient or Standard, is appropriate using the results of your audit.
Step 4. Review system components, options and costs. Choose a qualified installer.
Step 5. Submit the Interconnection Application/Agreement form and fee appropriate for your renewable system’s size. Alliant Energy will notify you when your interconnection application has been approved.
Step 6. Alliant Energy personnel will contact you regarding project scheduling and meter installation.
Step 7. After your Interconnection Agreement & Certificate of Completion are signed and approved, complete the installation of your renewable energy system and begin generating.
Step 8. Submit the appropriate renewable Cash-Back Reward form and documentation.
Step 9. Receive your Cash-Back Reward.
